Our inspirational founder Valerie Brandes talked to Joy Francis of Words of Colour in a recent interview. The two sat down at the Jacaranda Books offices in Southwark to discuss independent publishing, diversity, and being a woman entrepreneur. They also explored Jacaranda’s successes and highlights, as well as plans for the future of the company.
Jacaranda Books was founded by Valerie Brandes in 2012, publishing its first title, Fashion Africa by Jacqueline Shaw, in 2014. Since then the company has gone on to publish over 20 books, with award winners and nominees, and launching notable literary careers.
