Jacaranda at London Online Bookfair

London Book Fair is UK publishings biggest annual event. This year the global market and rights exhibition hosted a series of online panels discussing the present and future of UK publishing.

#Twentyin2020 author DD Armstrong was a guest on the 'How to Get Published' panel discussing the process of getting his book Ugly Dogs Don't Cry published, with fellow author Lola Shoneyin, Publicist Becky Hunter, and Literary Agent Caitlin Leydon.

Fellow #Twentyin2020 author Lisa Bent hosted 'The Power of Diverse Narratives' talk where she highlighted the lack of Black narratives across all genres, the lack of cultural understanding and the perception of what is deemed good enough from the white gaze to a white audience.

Finally, Founder and Editor Valerie Brandes and Non-fiction Editor Magdalene Abraha where joined by authors Anni Domingo and and Isabelle Dupuy on the 'Championing Black Voices and Stories, Past, Present and Future' panel. They discussed Jacaranda's work and it's plans for the future as we approach our 10 year anniversary in 2022.

All these panel and more are available to watch on the London Book Fair website. They are available until 16th July.
